Merry Christmas, you filthy animals! This a Christmas song right on the borderline between pleasant and annoying, sincere and sarcastic, like all my personal favorites are. It's also haunted by the ghosts of Christmas songs past, including those by The Boss, Sir Paul, The Kinks, Band Aid, Wham and Tchaikovsky. Plus it acknowledges St. Joseph, who never gets credit for having arguably the greatest Christmas spirit of all time (for buying the whole 'it's God's baby' thing).
